Currently....

{I read Jamie Morrow's Currently every week and I always want to hop on board because it seems like such a fun way to keep you guys updated on the stuff going on in my life so here I am.}

Loving...

The warm summerish weather and getting to be out walking everyday.  It makes for children who are less bored.



Reading...

Too many things, I keep volunteering to review stuff for people like I have all this time on my hands when I don't and then I am up all night reading. Plus I joined an online book cub because books. We are reading Uprooted by Naomi Novik this month, I really enjoyed it.


Watching...

I just started watching Breaking Bad on Netflix last week, a little late to the party but now I am super addicted.  I am already on season two which is crazy considering how little time I have for tv watching and that the kids cannot watch it.

Listening To...

A Game of Thrones on Audible, even though I have read it half a dozen times. I just like the thrill of listening to books now.

Thinking About...

Planning another mini vacation, we just got back from Montreal and it was a blast so I would like to go somewhere again and take the kids this time.



Anticipating...

We have an outing book to take the kids sailing on a tall ship in July, pretty excited about that.  I love being out on the water and Cat has never been sailing.



Wishing... 

For Cat to have lots of fun in her performance of Snow White tomorrow.

Making Me Happy...

Having gotten away for a few days, I was super stressed over school stuff for the kids and work and I really needed a break.  We had lots of relaxing on our long weekend.

Making Mac and Cheese

One of my favorite vegetables is butternut squash so when Chatelaine  posted this yummy looking recipe  for mac and cheese brimming with squash I immediately pinned it to make at a later time.  Now, before Pinterest  I am willing to admit, recipes got saved in my e-mail, but they never got made.  They just got lost in the shuffle; now they get neatly organized and displayed where I can go through them on a regular basis.  More importantly than that I can try them.   This recipe worked out well for me, I thought the cheese and squash tasted great together, the kids however did not agree.  They like their squash on the side, where they can control how much they ingest.  Next time I will definitely use less breadcrumbs though.

Spooktacular Giveaway Hop

When I was much younger than I am now, I loved nothing more that a good "spooky" story.  I spent many nights laying up in bed reading books that were designed to make your skin crawl and leave you with goose bumps. My personal favourite author for Young Adult Thrillers was and probably still is Christopher Pike.  Twenty years after reading his books some of them still stand out in my mind in perfect clarity.  The top one would be Remember Me. Something about Shari's story struck a chord with me that has echoed through the last twenty years, as any good book should I suppose. Sadly when I was a teenager I didn't hold on to as many books as I do now so I spend a lot of time hunting to replace the ones I really wish I had kept. (Sweet Valley High anyone?)
